Dangers of A New Constitutional Convention Package
This is a video package combining the Camp American 4-video set on the “Danger Of A New Constitutional Convention” with a video of Camp American Executive Director Chuck Michaelis giving a one-hour presentation at an Institute On The Constitution “First Friday” event called “Beware The Con-Con Con Job”.
Five hours of teaching on why a new constitutional convention would mean the end of our republic. An excellent resoource.
Camp American Monthly Payment Option
Camp American tuition can be paid at a rate of $25 per month per individual student. This is a 10 month pay off of Camp American tuition. If a camper begins paying $25 per month in July the tuition is paid after the April payment of the following year. After the first payment, we will remind you via email to make another the next month. That’s a great way to avoid the scramble of raising the money at the last minute!
Beware The Con-Con Con Job
Have you gotten the emails? You know the ones that say things like “Only the states can call and be in complete control of a a “single-issue” convention to amend the Constitution? The groups sending these out are many- 10 Amendments For Freedom, Citizen’s Initiative, etc., etc.
The arguments they present all look ironclad and irrefutable, don’t they? But are they really?
Chuck Michaelis, Executive Director of Camp American and Vice-chairman of the Institute For Principled Policy looks behind the self-confidant facade presented by proponents and finds flimsy support for the arguments they present. In a one-hour presentation he demonstrates, using historical, legal and procedural evidence, that once called by Congress a new constitutional convention will definitely NOT result in a federal balanced budget amendment, a state negation of unpopular law amendment, a personhood for the unborn amendment, or any of the other of the dozen or so of the proposed candidate issues for a “shackled” or “controlled” amendment convention completely controlled by the states. The result will be a “runaway” convention and a re-written constitution in which completely divorces the federal government from the Declaration of Independence and from the limits on federal power contained in the current Constitution.
Chuck also explains why the ratification procedure of Article V of the current Constitution, referred to as an absolute safeguard against wholesale changes to the Constitution by proponents, can be bypassed by a new convention. He explains that there is already an existing model for a new constitution that does all of these things.
Chuck gave this presentation to the Institute On The Constitution’s First Friday event in November, 2010
Dangers of a New Constitutional Convention
There is a movement in the United Sates that is gaining momentum. The movement is being steered towards convincing the states that a new constitutional convention should be called. There are several well-funded and seemingly well-informed groups trying to sell the idea of “single issue” calls for a new convention.
In virtually every case the impetus is some crisis either governmental, economic, or both. Some of these include illegal immigration, a balanced budget, state sovereignty, health care…the list goes on and on.
How well equipped are you to deal with the questions raised by these new Con-Con advocates? Do you know the history of the first Constitutional Convention and how we got it? Did you know that that convention was the result of a single issue call to modify the Articles of Confederation, not to throw it out and re-write it? Do you know what the philosophical framework of both the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution are? Do you know what dangers we face with a new convention?
If not you should consider getting your own copy of this 4-video set. Chuck Michaelis of the Institute for Principled Policy and Tom DeWeese of the American Policy Center work together to give a two-hour history of the calling of the first Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, a one-hour discussion of the legal and historical precedents created by the convention and the dangers for another convention created by the first one and a one-hour exposition of the philosophy of the Articles and the Constitution and the new and dangerous philosophical approaches to basic rights that threaten to replace the current ones.
This may be one of the most important videos you’ll ever see!
Stopping The Growth of Government
Charlie Smith, a political consultant, speaker, former newspaper editor and publisher and historical researcher, continues his series on “Stopping The Growth of Government.”
Charlie teaches students how to analyze events in history with a view to the accumulation of power by central government authorities. He gives insight into historical events and the thoughts of those involved as only someone who has experienced these events from the inside can. This is definitely NOT he same presentation he gave in 2008.

The Foundations of the Founders
Barry Sheets, CEO of Principled Consulting, LLC and Director of the Institute For Principled Policy, continues what he started at Camp American 2008. Barry digs deep and extracts the Christian foundations of the men and women of the “founding era.”
With great care Barry demonstrates that the founding fathers were not just a group of “deists and skeptics” but were overwhelmingly believers, deeply ingrained with both the Bible and its greatest expositors and the teachings of the great thinkers of the Reformation, who argued for the application of biblical principle to all of life. Even men of the founding era who were unorthodox in their faith demonstrated unmistakable marks of the Christian worldview in their writings and actions.

Thinking Fast On Your Feet About Important Issues
When you are confronted with important questions in a classroom setting or other kinds of public discourse how fast can you come up with an answer?
Dr. Charles Rice, Professor Emeritus of Notre Dame University Law School, teaches a seminar in the rapid-fire Socratic question and answer method as only he can do. Dr. Rice covers important issues like just war, abortion, end-of-life, euthenasia, mental and physical development issues, from a Christian pro-life perspective. Dr. Rice’s presentation can be scary to first-time class participants but you cannot experience one of his classes without coming away with the realization that there are times when you need to “think FAST!”
